About Jeanne

 

Jeanne has been mad for textiles and paper and paint ever since the beginning of her time. Her love of stitching, painting, adhering, color, texture, dyeing, felting, ripping, cutting, designing, embellishing, stuffing, weaving, collaging and the vast work of fibers/papers, is colossal. 

 

A contented artist and lifelong Wisconsinite, she grew up in the Driftless Region of southwest Wisconsin near Wildcat Mountain and spent 30 years living, learning and growing in vibrant Madison where she earned degrees in textiles and design, secondary education, and broadcast journalism. 

 

She also spent many years on the art show circuit with a good-humored band of art show gypsies. She sold hundreds of clothing creations, made many friends, experienced every kind of weather (and client) inside her little white show tent and she learned the meaning of true exhaustion. 

 

She now lives part-time in central Wisconsin (the land of cranberries) and part-time Up North (the land of chronic relaxation and an ever-present muse.)

 

In recent years she has taught embroidery, collage, clothing alterations, upcycled walking sticks, wall murals on old wallpaper, felting, art doll creations, printing papers and fibers, irreverent art pillows, and more.
